
Mrs. Garza-Gonzalez has served as Superintendent of the Fallbrook Union High School District (FUHSD) since July 2019. Under her leadership, all district schools have earned a full six-year WASC accreditation; Ivy High School was recognized as a California Model Continuation High School and launched both a dual enrollment program and a business pathway; and Fallbrook High School received the College Board Gold Honor Roll designation for student access and outcomes, as well as recognition by U.S News & World Report as one of the Best High Schools in the Nation. Districtwide, FUHSD has achieved increases in A-G completion rates, academic achievement, and standardized test scores. Significant facilities modernization has also taken place, including a new CTE building, upgraded electrical systems, new FFA classrooms, and improved restroom facilities.
Mrs. Garza- Gonzalez earned her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language (1990) and Master of Arts in Spanish Literature (1993) from the University of California, Riverside, along with her Single Subject Teaching and Administrative Services Credentials from Brandman University. She brings more than 30 years of experience in K-12 and higher education and identifies the high school setting as her professional passion.
Her leadership has been recognized statewide. She was named CALSA's San Diego Chapter Superintendent of the Year (2024) and ACSA Region 18 Valuing Diversity Award recipient (2025). A frequent presenter at conferences hosted by CASH, CALSA, and ACSA, she speaks on closing the achievement gap, women in leadership, and student empowerment. Mrs. Garza-Gonzalez models and champions the district's core commitments to Access, Engagement, Student Outcomes in all aspects of her work.
