Information about Open Enrollment 2021 (October 5 - 30, 2020) (CURRENTLY CLOSED)
Your Benefit Committee has been working hard to bring you a program that best fits your needs and to ensure the information is as easy to access as possible. Due to the challenging circumstances, the 2021 Open Enrollment will be and begins Monday, October 5, 2020 and ends Friday, October 30, 2020.
Open enrollment is a good time to verify the coverage that you have. Please confirm the coverage you elect with your payroll deductions beginning in December 2020 for January 2021 plans.
• During open enrollment, eligible employees are permitted to join the various benefit plans if they declined previously and/or may add dependents not previously covered. Open Enrollment is the only time you can make changes to your benefit elections unless you have a qualified change in family status as recognized by the IRS such as marriage, divorce, birth or adoption of a child, spouse’s job status/benefit change, etc.
• You are responsible for notifying Business Services of any changes that impact your benefits within 30 days of a qualifying change in status. Otherwise, you must wait until the next open enrollment period to make changes. Fallbrook UHSD is not responsible for uncovered dependents.
WHAT’S CHANGING? We are pleased to announce Anthem and Kaiser will continue as our insurance carriers for the 2021 plan year. In order to provide options more conducive to our employee base, there are two changes being made:

In addition, SISC will be providing a recorded presentation that takes a deeper dive into the medical plans, discount programs and other valuable resources available to you and your covered family members. A link to the presentation can be found within the informational Open Enrollment video.
This year Open Enrollment will be “passive” meaning all of your current benefit elections (with the exception of the FSA) will continue January 1 – December 31, 2021.
If you want to make changes to your current elections or participate in the FSA in 2021, all forms must be submitted to Business Services by the close of business on Friday, October 30, 2020. All changes will be effective January 1, 2021. All Open Enrollment materials will be made available through the informational Open Enrollment video.
Opt-Outs: If you want to waive the district benefits, please contact Angie Goode in Business Services at email@example.com.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA): The IRS requires a new FSA election each year. Your current election will NOT transfer over. If you want to enroll in the FSA benefits for the 2021 plan year, you will need to make a new election through American Fidelity (AFA). Click the AFA logo or here to make an appointment:
