Superintendent's Statement
On behalf of the Board of Education and all staff members of Fallbrook Union High School District, welcome to our webpage. We take pride in what we do in Fallbrook, whether it be in the academic program, the co-curricular program, or on the athletic field. We have a full complement of courses that are offered at each of our school sites, including a full complement of AP courses as well as several programs in the career technical arena. Many of the programs we have instituted over the past several years have received recognition by the state and/or nationally. Several of them are also model programs, and many times other school districts from northern and southern California will visit. We have also had officials from other countries visit our district to model their programs after ours. There are several after-school programs to ensure that our students do not fall behind academically. These include tutorial programs, parenting programs, and programs for students to make up courses during the school year rather than wait for summer school. We run a full summer school program to better meet the academic needs of our students. Our outstanding co-curricular program plays an integral part in the day-to-day socialization of our students. Students have an opportunity to join a full array of clubs, including many service groups, at Fallbrook High School, Ivy High School, and Oasis High School. We also have a tremendous amount of student participation in our athletic program. On the athletic field, we are one of the finest school districts in the county, and we take pride in the fact that we offer many sports, both male and female, at every level. We are very excited with the renovation of our football field and track stadium with state-of-the-art synthetic materials, offering the highest standard in football and track facilities. As a school district, we set very high standards for all employees and students. Each year, we develop goals for the upcoming school year, and, by the end of the year, all the goals for the next year are in place and everyone is working toward them. Each and every goal is developed to improve program and to better meet the needs of all students across the entire curriculum. Our community is growing at a rapid pace, and we are now putting together a plan for the next ten years that deals with growth and school facilities to ensure that each and every student has a quality facility in which to meet his or her academic and co-curricular needs. This spring, we moved the District Office, Oasis High School, and the Special Education Transition program into new buildings at the former location of the district office complex. This new site will also allow future expansion of Fallbrook High to accommodate potential growth prior to the construction of a new high school within our boundaries. Fiscally, the Board of Trustees is responsive in maintaining a budget that is fiscally responsible and operationally viable. Even during these challenging times, we have been able to continue all program and hire the highest quality teachers for our students. Again, welcome to the Fallbrook Union High School District. We pride ourselves in having very open communication and welcome your comments by email or telephone: rfrench@fuhsd.net or (760) 723-6332, extension 6497. Robert L. French, Ed.D.Superintendent |
