Regular Education Home-to-School Transporation at Risk
Due to financial challenges the District faces, including the possible loss of State funding for home-to-school transportation, the Fallbrook Union High School District Board of Trustees is considering the elimination of regular education home-to-school transportation commencing with the 2012-2013 school year. Fully Online Educational Program to be Offered Next School Year
During the week of January 2nd, the District mailed home a notice to parents and guardians of 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students regarding the fully online educational program that the District will implement commencing next school year. If you are interested in this program option, please read the letter, plan to attend the informational program meeting on Wednesday, January 18th, and register your student by Friday, January 27, 2012 (letters and registration form below).
Durante la semana del 2 de enero, el Distrito enviara un aviso por correa a los padres y tutores de los estudiantes en los grados 9, 10 y 11 referente al programa de educación totalmente por internet que el Distrito va a implementar comenzando el año entrante. Fallbrook UHSD Board of Trustees Special Community Engagement Meeting January 9, 2012
The Fallbrook Union High School District Board of Trustees has scheduled a community engagement meeting on Monday, January 9, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Community Room of the Fallbrook Public Library. The primary purpose of this meeting is for the Board to receive input as to how the District can better serve the community and to better understand the community's priorities. Fallbrook UHSD to expand online learning opportunities for students
FUHSD will expand online learning opportunities for students commencing with the 2012-2013 school year. The letters attached to this article were sent to parents/guardians of all 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students on October 5, 2011.
New Graduation Requirements
On June 20, 2011, the Board of Trustees approved two changes to the Fallbrook Union High School District graduation requirements. Commencing with the class of 2015, in addition to the unit/credit and California High School Exit Exam requirements, students will have to meet both a community service requirement and an online coursework requirement. These changes are the result of ongoing District efforts to better prepare students for success in the 21st century. Please see attached letters for more information.
NCLB Program Improvement for Fallbrook High School
Fallbrook High continues as a Year 2 Program Improvement (PI) school under the federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001. With the release of the 2010-2011 accountability data later this month, Fallbrook High could advance to Year 3 of PI. However, because it takes two consecutive years of meeting all accountability targets to exit PI, Fallbrook High will at least be in Year 2 of PI for the 2011-2012 school year.
